Paramus, New Jersey – October 26, 2015

The Hellenic Federation of New Jersey announced the establishment of annual scholarship to be granted to students of Hellenic descent.  Federation president, Savas Tsivicos, in announcing the new program said: “The Federation has decided that the future of Hellenism in America is in the new generation and has decided to show its
support by making a contribution to the education of young Greek Americans.”

The Federation Scholarship Committee was formed a few months ago and is chaired by past president Tassos Efstratiades.  “We worked hard to create procedures that respond to the needs of today’s students and at the same time make it a priority to evaluate a young person’s commitment to his or her studies but also to our Hellenic communities around New Jersey.”

The Committee has members from the academic world and from the Hellenic community at large. The applications have been forwarded to the member organizations for distribution.  They are due at the Federation offices on January 4, 2016.
